KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his belief that a long-term agreement will be reached in the energy sector during his visit to China.
Addressing the 38th annual celebration program of Nepal Electricity Authority, PM Dahal recalled his recent visit to India, where there was an initial agreement to export up to 10,000 megawatts of electricity. He said that the officials of Nepal and India are engaged in constant discussion aimed at solidifying the agreement. He also stated that final preparations are underway to sign the agreement for electricity export to Bangladesh.
In reference to his recent discussions in Italy, he said there was also a conversation with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh about boosting electricity trade with Bangladesh. Furthermore, he mentioned that in the upcoming month, he has confidence that there will be significant and fruitful agreements regarding the energy sector, during his visit to China.
