KATHMANU, May 30:
The Government has made preparations to forward the construction of additional four hydropower projects for relief from current load-shedding problem in the country.
Dudhkoshi IV (49 MW), Myagdi Hydropower Project (32 MW), Beni-Kaligandaki Hydropower Project (50 MW), Sankhuwasabha River Hydropower Project (30 MW) are among the projects that the government has kept in the priority list of late.
Joint-Secretary and Spokesperson at the Ministry of Energy, Keshav Dhwaj Adhikari, said the process for selecting consultants for these projects with the combined capacity of generating 161 MW power has moved forward.
Similarly, the Ministry stated that it has received the preliminary survey report of the Chepe Hydropower Project, Lamjung, and the preliminary survey of Dotigad Hydropower Project, Dadeldhura, has reached the final stage.
Likewise, survey of other hydropower projects that are to be constructed at Mauwa Khola of Taplejung district and Madi khola of Rolpa district is concluded, said Spokesperson Adhikari.
