Load-shedding reduced to four hours a day

    LOAD-SHEEDING_2012The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reduced load-shedding by one hour to four hours a day effective from Tuesday after rise in the water level at the reservoir of Kulekhani project. There will now be 27 hours of power cut in a week according to the new schedule. The current demand of energy is 1,000 MW and supply 700 MW including that imported from India. NEA said load-shedding will continue as the system is still short by 300 MW.
