Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN) together with International Finance Corporation (IFC) and International Centre for Hydropower (ICH) is going to organize a half day international seminar on 13th November, 2017 on Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation. The seminar will be followed by a residential workshop focusing on disaster preparedness, insurance and mitigation for hydropower projects and operating plants from 14-16 November, 2017 at Dhulikhel.
The main objective of this course is to learn about disasters, consideration on designing resilient structure, early warning systems, methods and procedure for emergency response etc. Disaster preparedness course will consider measures taken to prepare for and reduce the effects of disasters. That is, to predict as far as practicable and—where possible—prevent them, mitigate their impact on vulnerable populations, and respond to and effectively cope with their consequences.
The course will utilize resource persons with wide experience on international hydropower industry and development as well as local experts.
