Government officials and representatives of South Asian countries said that it is high time the South Asian countries forged energy co-operation. Speaking at a workshop on ‘Energy Co-operation, Climate Change and Water Management initiative for Regional Integration’ on Thursday, Chair of South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation Energy Centre Helal A Raza said member-countries should work hand-in-hand to meet energy requirements, however for doing so, political will is important. Nepal Electricity Authority spokesperson Sher Singh Bhat said that it is likely to have bi-lateral grid connection among member-countries as a stepping stone for an initiation for regional co-operation.
