The Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI) is organizing the 5th in the series of its flagship events on energy security – The Asia Energy Security Summit (AESS 2015) in Kathmandu, Nepal from 2nd to 4th March 2015.
This is a Track II Diplomacy Initiative, where Government and Industry Leaders, Regulators, Policymakers, Academicians and think tanks from across Asia discuss and debate issues relating to the entire energy spectrum, particularly the emerging issues and challenges in the Energy landscape of Asia.
It is a “must attend” summit for business houses to strategize their operations so as to move forward quickly and efficiently for their business development as well as network with the best minds in the energy sector. Energy experts and academicians as well as government officials also get an opportunity to be a part of the most interesting debates revolving around energy security and geopolitics.
The impact of explosive situations, like the ISIS crisis, emerging in parts of Asia is a cause for concern and will be discussed by experts. Security of energy infrastructure is as important as securing energy itself. The summit shall have experts from the industry to showcase latest technologies for securing critical energy infrastructure.
The forum will deliberate on Cross border trade of electricity between the Asian countries which could be a game changer for energy security in the region. Harmonization of regulations and policies for cross border electricity trade shall be one of the important issues to be discussed at the Summit.
The Hon’ble Minister of Energy, Nepal shall be the Guest of Honor at the summit. The 5th AESS 2015 will be held at the picturesque “Gokarna Forest Resorti” in Kathmandu, Nepal.
