The project is being implemented by Sanjen Jalvidhyut Company Limited — a subsidiary of Chilime Hydropower Company Limited. Chilime is promoted by Nepal Electricity Authority — the state-owned power utility.

Similarly, construction of the headwork, as well as the powerhouse, is going on in full swing,” officials of Upper Sanjen Hydropower Project told Republica.

Sunil Prasad Regmi, administrative officer of the company, said that the work of fitting penstock pipes in the powerhouse is also underway. Regmi added that all project works will be completed within the deadline i.e. mid-February next year.

Similarly, progress in electromechanical and hydro-mechanical works stand at 53 percent and 60 percent, respectively, according to Regmi.

The project has contracted the work of constructing 7-kilometer 132 KVA transmission line to Mudbhari and Joshi Construction Pvt Ltd. The company is now acquiring lands for erecting pylons, Regmi added.

Power generated by the project will be connected to a Chilime sub-station, where energy generated by Chilime Hydropower Project and several other plants are connected.

The company is also building Sanjen Hydroelectric Project (42.5 MW). Both the projects are being implemented in a company model following the success of Chilime Hydropower Plant (22.1 MW) which started generation in 2003.
