The project signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Nepal Electricity Authority on March 16, 2012.

The Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) required for the project was approved by the Ministry of Energy on September 24, 2024. The Department of Electricity Development under the Ministry of Energy had granted the generation license on October 9, 2015. The project’s intake is located at an altitude of about 1,500 meters, while the powerhouse is situated at 1,282 meters. The project has been designed to generate a total of 11 MW through two Pelton turbine units (each 5.5 MW) installed at the powerhouse.

The electricity generated from the project, which is connected to the national grid through the switchyard at the Samundratar Substation in Nuwakot, has begun to be supplied via a 6-kilometer-long 33 kV transmission line. The project is estimated to generate 61.319 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually, of which 50.893 gigawatt-hours are expected to be produced during the wet season and 10.425 gigawatt-hours during the dry season.
