Kathmandu: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reported power disruptions in certain areas due to strong winds and adverse weather conditions.

In a press release, the NEA clarified that these brief outages, triggered by severe weather, should not be mistaken for load-shedding.

The Authority further claimed that some reports circulating on social media are exaggerated and misleading, inaccurately labeling the temporary interruptions as load-shedding.

“Our serious attention has been drawn to the exaggerated and misleading statements on social media claiming that load-shedding is occurring, in the context of brief power interruptions caused by windstorms in various parts of the country and adverse pre-monsoon weather conditions,” the statement read.

The NEA assured the public that round-the-clock efforts are underway from distribution centers nationwide to restore power in affected areas. According to the Authority, electricity supply has already been resumed in most of the locations impacted by the weather.
