Dailekh – UML President KP Sharma Oli has said that there is no alternative to petroleum exploration in Dailekh to achieve the long-term goal of a prosperous Nepal. President Oli said that petroleum exploration plays an important role in the country’s economy while inspecting the petroleum exploration site located in Bhairavi Rural Municipality-1 of Dailekh.

“Dailekh is not only a district of archaeological importance, it is also a district with good potential for petroleum products,” President Oli said. After the briefing with the team of the department about the squeezing of the Chinese team, President Oli said that the extraction of petroleum products will play a big role in bringing the country to the path of prosperity.

In March 2015, China and Nepal signed a Prime Ministerial-level bilateral agreement to explore petroleum products in Dailekh. In March 2018, a financial and technical agreement worth 2.4 billion was signed between the department and the Chinese Geological Survey Company for exploration and excavation.

Since 2019, detailed exploration of petroleum products was carried out with the financial and technical support of the Chinese government. But when the Corona epidemic started, the Chinese team returned home. According to the Department of Mines and Geology, drilling will now be done based on the survey conducted in 20,000 square meters of the area.

During the fifth day of UML’s ‘Jhulaghat-Chiwabhanjang, Sankalp Yatra for Prosperity’ campaign, which started with the slogan ‘Sambandh Local : Sandesh Rashtriya’, UML President Oli visited the burning Shiristhana temple in Dailekh today.
