NEA urges not to use colorful lights during Tihar

    KATHMANDU, Oct 20: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on Monday has urged general public not to use colorful lights during upcoming Tihar festival citing power shortage in the country due to down in power production by 68 megawatts.

    Issuing a public notice today on the eve of five-day long festival which is also known as festival of lights, NEA has also urged not use the electrical devices such as rice cookers, cloth irons, air conditioners and refrigerators during 5 to 10 pm starting from October 22 to 25.

    It has further cautioned general public that power outage could be enforced if the notice was ignored.
