Pokhara: The Nepal Electricity Authority has moved forward with the process of permanently acquiring land required for the construction of transmission line towers in Kaski district under the Damauli 220 kV Transmission Line Project. The District Administration Office, Kaski, has issued a public notice requesting affected landowners, rights holders, and stakeholders to appear at the office with the necessary documents and submit their claims and evidence.
According to the “Land Acquisition Notice” issued by the District Administration Office, land at locations designated in the first phase will be permanently acquired for the construction of transmission line towers under the Damauli 220 kV Transmission Line Project. The notice has publicly disclosed, in tabular form, details including the names of affected individuals, ward/former administrative unit details, names of landowners, names of husbands/fathers, names of grandfathers/fathers-in-law, the area where the tower will be located (right of way), and the proposed compensation amounts.
The administration office stated that since the land acquisition process will be carried out for areas where towers will be constructed during the project implementation, affected landowners or their legal heirs must submit applications/claims within the specified deadline. The notice mentions that documents such as citizenship certificates, land ownership certificates (lalpurja), cadastral maps, and landowner verification documents will be required when submitting claims and evidence.
The District Administration Office has also stated that if no claims or complaints are received within the stipulated time, the process of land acquisition and compensation determination will proceed in accordance with prevailing laws. The administration believes this will help ensure the timely completion of the project.
