Government Approves National Forest Use for Four Hydropower Projects

Kathmandu: The government has approved the use of national forest areas for four hydropower projects. This decision was made at the Cabinet meeting held today at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting approved the use of national forest areas for the Sutikhola Hydropower Project, Tamakoshi V Hydropower Project, Upper Sankhuwasabha Hydropower Project, and Setikhola Hydropower Project, according to Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, who also serves as the government spokesperson.

Similarly, the Cabinet decided to appoint Chandrakala Paudel, Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Nepal Insurance Authority, until further arrangements are made.

This government decision is expected to help advance energy production projects.
