Electricity authority got a transformer with the latest technology

Kathmandu. The Nepal Electricity Authority has got a state-of-the-art technology and environmentally friendly power distribution transformer. Nepal Ekrat Engineering Company Pvt. Ltd.(NEEK) has provided 500 KVA capacity transformer to the Authority free of cost.
A transformer worth around 32 lakh rupees has been installed in the head office premises of Ratna Park. A modern communication device has also been installed in the transformer, which can be used to check the condition or get information about whether it is damaged or not damaged from the head office. Kush Kumar Joshi, the managing director of the company, handed over the transformer to Kulman Ghising, the managing director of the authority.
The transformer manufactured using the ‘Vacuum Unload Tap Changer’ technology of Germany’s MR Company and vegetable oil produced by the American company Car-Gil is environmentally friendly.
Manoj Silwal, Deputy Executive Director of Directorate of Authority, Distribution and Customer Service, said that the possibility of fire in the transformer is very low due to the use of natural oil due to its high cooling capacity and automatic voltage control and balance.
In August last, the authority and the company signed a memorandum of understanding for the manufacture and installation of transformers
was signed. Different types of accidents occurring during power supply can be prevented from such transformers and can be connected to one pole as well.
