Vision Lumbini Urja Awarded International ISO Certification for Excellence

Kathmandu: Vision Lumbini Urja Company Limited has received an international quality mark and certification. The company has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 for meeting international standards.

According to the company’s Managing Director, Jagat Pokharel, the certificate was awarded by the board of Stanchuli Management and Services based in the UK after evaluating Vision Lumbini’s financial, administrative, operational performance, project development and design, construction, and other areas.

During a program organized on Sunday to receive the certificate at the company’s office located in Butwal Power Company’s building in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, Pokharel stated that Vision Lumbini is committed to following global values and standards in its operations.

He further said that since the company has investment from many individuals, it has prioritized transparency and good governance.

At the event, Ganesh Karki, President of the Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN), emphasized that all energy companies, like Vision Lumbini Urja Company, should acquire such certifications.

He stated that if energy companies start adopting international standards, it would help reduce the doubts and criticisms faced by the energy sector.

Bal Krishna Basnet, Chairperson of Press Council Nepal and a guest at the event, mentioned that Vision Lumbini had been working in accordance with international standards from the beginning and has now confirmed it by receiving the certification.

He added that with the acquisition of the international quality mark and certification, there is now assurance that investments made in Vision Lumbini will not be misused. He expressed that Vision Lumbini is capable of conveying the message that there are reliable, transparent, and internationally operating companies in Nepal.

He also emphasized that Nepali media should prioritize business-related topics by sharing the message that there are many organized and transparent companies like Vision Lumbini in Nepal.

Santosh Giri, a representative from the evaluating organization responsible for awarding the certificate, shared that the certification was granted only after a comprehensive three-month evaluation of the company.

Kushal Kshetri, the project’s chief manager, stated that Vision Lumbini Urja Company is recognized as a company with unique attributes—completing the Setikhola Hydropower Project faster than other projects, being cost-effective and transparent, allowing ordinary citizens to become project owners, and completing the project without any disputes or obstacles.

Former Managing Director of the Electricity Authority Uttar kumar Shrestha, former Director Ganesh Shrestha, journalist Jeevan Bhandari, and others congratulated the company on receiving the international quality mark and certification.
