The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is urging consumers who previously utilized electricity from dedicated feeders and trunk lines, and are now facing power supply disruptions, to participate in the appeal process.
The NEA emphasizes that affected consumers must either engage in the appeal process or settle their dues through installment payments.
During a press conference today, NEA Executive Director Kulman Ghising stated that no exemptions could be granted, as directives were already issued to clear dues from dedicated feeder and trunk line users after disconnecting the electricity supply lines. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ instructed the NEA to collect electricity tariff dues.
In accordance with the Prime Minister’s directives, the NEA has disconnected electricity lines to some prominent industries, prompting concerns from the business and industry community.
Earlier, through public notices, the NEA had requested industry, business, and non-business consumers to settle electricity dues promptly.
Since December 26, the NEA has been disconnecting electricity supply lines as per electricity transmission and tariff regulations, as consumers have neglected to pay their dues.”
