
Kathmandu: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has directed promoter companies of hydropower and solar energy projects that have already signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and are currently under construction to submit their project progress reports within seven days.
The NEA’s Electricity Trade Department under the Business Development Directorate issued a public notice on Friday, requesting developers to provide updated information on construction progress, the estimated completion timeline, and the current status of their projects.
According to the notice, all promoter companies of projects that have signed PPAs and are under const
ruction must submit their progress reports to the NEA within seven days from the date of publication of the notice.
The NEA stated that if the progress details are not submitted within the stipulated timeframe, necessary actions will be initiated in accordance with the PPA provisions.
The authority is understood to have issued the notice with the objective of updating the actual status of under-construction projects, identifying challenges affecting construction progress, and clarifying the expected timeline for electricity generation.
