Minister Ghising and U.S. Ambassador Hold Talks on Bilateral Cooperation

Kathmandu, 24 September — Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, held a courtesy meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson.

At the meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation in Singha Durbar, Ambassador Thompson congratulated the newly appointed Minister Ghising on behalf of the United States and extended best wishes for a successful tenure.

The two sides discussed Nepal–U.S. cooperation, the implementation status of projects supported by the United States, and the reconstruction of public infrastructure damaged during the “Gen-Z Movement,” among other issues.

Minister Ghising emphasized that the government’s current priorities are the reconstruction of structures damaged by the movement, the upcoming general elections, and the promotion of good governance.

Ambassador Thompson reaffirmed that the United States would continue its support to Nepal.
