
Nawalparasi: The compensation amount has been determined for land acquired for the construction of tower pads under the under-construction Bhumahi–Hakui 132 kV transmission line project of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
The District Administration Office, Nawalparasi, has informed that the compensation was fixed in accordance with Sections 9, 10, and 13 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1977, based on the decision of the Compensation Determination Committee dated 3 February 2026.
A notice regarding this matter was published on 5 February 2026, today.
According to the notice, land located in various wards of Sunwal Municipality and Ramgram Municipality has been acquired. The area of land acquired and the compensation rate per kattha have been fixed differently depending on the tower number. The notice states that in some locations, the compensation rate per kattha has been set ranging from NPR 376,000 to NPR 1,892,000.
Concerned landowners may claim compensation by submitting a duly completed application along with proof of ownership or possession (including the original land ownership certificate, a copy of the citizenship certificate, land tax payment receipts, etc.) to the project office.
Such claims must be submitted to the project office located at the 132 kV substation in Sunwal-7, Charpala.
The notice also states that any person who is dissatisfied with the details published in the notice may file a complaint with the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs within 15 days from the date of publication of the notice.
