Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has directed concerned authorities to complete the construction of the Jagdulla Hydropower Project in Dolpa within the stipulated timeframe.
During an inspection of the central office of Jagdulla Hydropower Company Limited, Minister Shrestha warned stakeholders against delays in project implementation. He said it was encouraging that work on the project was progressing rapidly even in the geographically remote Karnali Province.
Minister Shrestha expressed confidence that the hydropower projects would not only improve the living standards of local residents but also make a significant contribution to Nepal’s national energy development. He urged project officials to immediately inform the ministry about any technical or administrative problems encountered during construction, assuring that the government was ready to help resolve them.
Please inform the ministry immediately about any issues seen during the construction phase, and we will seek prompt solutions. However, there must be no delay in work progress, and the projects must be completed within the designated timeframe,” Minister Shrestha said.
Under Jagdulla Hydropower Company Limited, construction is underway on the 106 MW Jagdulla Semi-Reservoir Hydropower Project and the 124.35 MW Jagdulla ‘A’ Semi-Reservoir Hydropower Project in Dolpa.
Energy Ministry Secretary Chiranjivi Chataut also participated in the program. The government expects the completion of these projects to significantly support physical infrastructure development and economic activities in the Dolpa region.
