Commercial production of Mai Beni Hydropower Project started

24 September, Kathmandu. The Maibeni Hydropower Project has started commercial production from September 20. The project, completed by Urja Developers’ affiliate Samling Power Company in Ilam, has a generating capacity of 9.51 MW.

The Mai beni Hydropower Project has started commercial production two months before the date of commencement of commercial production as per the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

Mai beni has started commercial production after completing various stages of testing under the guidance of a representative of Nepal Electricity Authority and successfully completing 15 days of test production. In addition, Mai beni will contribute 53.28 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually to the national grid.

Residents of the affected areas can apply for the IPO from September 3 to September 17. The Maibeni Hydropower Project has received 63 times more applications.

Similarly, out of the total 1.23 million ordinary shares (IPO) of the project, it is planned to open an additional 730,000 shares. The project says that the issue and sale of 100 shares will be opened after the distribution of IPO allotted to the residents of the affected areas is completed.
