Arun Valley Hydropower Q3 earning dwindles by 18.22% to Rs 3.44 crore; Investment rises to Rs 54.91 crore

    Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) has posted a net profit decline of 18.22 percent in the third quarter of the current fiscal year 2073/74.

    According to the unaudited financial report published today, its net profit after income tax has dropped  to Rs 3.44 crore in third quarter of fiscal year 2073/74 from Rs 4.21 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year 2072/73.

    AHPC made an income of Rs 5.57 crore, mainly from selling electricity, by the end of the third quarter, declining from Rs 6.87 crore in the corresponding quarter — drop by 19%. Likewise, its income from other sources decreased to Rs 1.47 crore in the Q3 from Rs 1.65 crore in corresponding quarter.

    The company’s operating profit has plunged to Rs 4.35 crore in Q3 from Rs 5.82 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year.

    Its reserve fund has dwindled by 39.82% to Rs 3.73 crore in Q3 from Rs 6.20 crore in the corresponding quarter.

    The hydropower development company has increased its investment from Rs 46.77 crore in previous year to Rs 54.91 crore. Its paid up capital remains at Rs 84.81 crore.

    AHPC’s annualized earnings per share (EPS) stands at Rs 5.42, its net worth per share at Rs 104.40 and P/E ratio stands at 53 times.

    Arun Valley Hydropower operates 3 MW Piluwakhola Hydropower Project. It has investments in several hydropower companies and projects including Ridikhola Hydropower (2.4 MW), Kabeli-B1 Hydropower (25MW), Api Power Company Limited and Arun Kabeli Hydropower Project (25 MW).
