Bhotekoshi River of Sindhupalchowk on Tuesday night has swept away 20 concrete houses and has put 200 houses at high risk. The river has eroded some 50 metres road at Kodari along the Araniko highway. The flood has swept away Tatopani-based Mansarobar Boarding School and embankment and some portion of desander of Upper Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project at Daskilo, according to the Police Office.
River is flowing above the dam of Upper Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project and damaged Headworks structure and also flooded powerhouse area.
According to locals river is flowing 20 feet above the normal water level .
Last year’s earthquakes, aftershocks and quake-induced landslides damaged Upper Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project , have not yet been restored .
