Transport entrepreneurs in Amlekhgunj, who have been delivering fuel, have demanded proper management of the tankers, private trucks and contracts for tanker owners.
BIRGUNJ, Dec 30: The completion of the second phase of the Motihari-Amlekhgunj pipeline has raised concerns over the fate of 104 tankers that transport petrol and kerosene from Barauni to Amlekhgunj. As the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) started delivering fuel through the pipeline, management of these tankers has become complicated.
Transport entrepreneurs in Amlekhgunj, who have been delivering fuel, have demanded proper management of the tankers, private trucks and contracts for tanker owners. They have asked for a resolution of the issue by January 8 while warning of fresh protests. They had earlier postponed their protest for 10 days after receiving a letter of assurance from the NOC.
However, Pralayankar Acharya, Chief of the NOC’s Amlekhgunj office, said since the provincial office cannot address the demands they have forwarded the issue to the central office for further action.
