The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the government not to enforce its decision to relieve Bhakta Bahadur Pun and Kapil Acharya from their positions as members of the Board of Directors of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

SC Justice Sunil Kumar Pokharel issued an interim order on Thursday, instructing the government to halt the implementation of its decision to remove Pun and Acharya from their posts.

The SC has also requested the government to provide an explanation for their dismissal.

On August 2, Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Dipak Khadka made a ministerial-level decision to remove Pun and Acharya from their positions. Following their removal, Devendra Karki and Mahendra Bahadur Gurung were appointed as their replacements.
