Dhading, Sept. 14: The Jahare Substation in Dhading, which was damaged after being inundated by the massive flood in the Bhotekoshi River, has resumed operation following repair and restoration works.
The devastating flood that struck on 26 August caused significant damage to the substation located at Jaharekhet. Floodwaters mixed with sludge accumulated up to around 10 feet inside the substation premises, damaging electrical equipment and physical infrastructure.
Following the disaster, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) mobilized manpower, equipment, and materials to expedite repair and restoration work at the facility. According to the NEA, the damaged equipment and structures have now been repaired, and the substation was brought back into operation at 2:00 pm on 13 September.
With the substation back in service, electricity supply has been restored in the 22 kV area under the Adamghat feeder, including Gajuri Bazaar. Power supply has also resumed in areas such as Kiranchok and Milantar under the Pida feeder, the authority said.
Electricity service in these areas had been disrupted after the flood damaged the substation. The NEA stated that power supply in the affected areas is gradually returning to normal following the restoration of operations.
The authority said it is continuing to prioritize the remaining repair and rehabilitation works to ensure regular and reliable electricity service. It added that the rapid restoration of flood-damaged power infrastructure remains a key priority as efforts continue to return services in the affected areas to normal.
