Power Outage: 5-Hour Electricity Disruption in Parts of Kathmandu and Lalitpur from Today

3 February, Kathmandu – Electricity service will be disrupted in some areas of the Kathmandu Valley starting today.

The Nepal Electricity Authority has announced that power will be cut off in different locations on different days to facilitate the process of undergrounding the distribution lines.

The authority has issued a notice informing that electricity service will be disrupted from today until 11 Feb.

The authority is working to underground the electrical lines under the Kuleshwar, Baneshwar, Jorpati, and Kirtipur distribution centers. Accordingly, power supply in these areas will be disrupted from 11 AM to 4 PM until 11 Feb.

According to the authority, electricity service will be disrupted today in the Bhatkeko Pul area under the Tangal Distribution Center. On Tuesday, the outage will affect the area around the Kalanki Land Revenue Office under the Kalanki Feeder. On Wednesday, power will be disrupted in Balkumari, Imadol, and the surrounding areas of Lubhu.

Similarly, on Thursday, the outage will extend from Naikap to Balambu. On Friday (25th), power supply will be cut from Balkhu Chowk to Chobhar Gate. On the 27th, the disruption will affect the area from Baba Chowk to the Cricket Stadium. On the 28th, electricity will be cut from Gaushala Chowk to Purano Baneshwar, and on the 29th, the power supply will be halted from Ratopul to Gaushala.
