
Kathmandu: Construction of the 18-kilometer electricity transmission line from the New Butwal Substation to the Nepal–India border under the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Nepal Compact is progressing rapidly. According to the project, steady progress is being achieved on a daily basis through the continuous efforts of engineers and local construction teams.
The under-construction transmission line is expected to enhance electricity transmission capacity between Nepal and India, making energy supply more reliable. It is also believed that the project will strengthen the country’s energy infrastructure and create greater opportunities for long-term investment and development.
According to the project, once completed, the transmission line will significantly improve the quality of the power system, ensure a more stable electricity supply, and further strengthen regional energy connectivity.
The latest progress in the transmission project is expected to contribute to making Nepal’s energy sector more modern and competitive.
