
Kathmandu: On Thursday, the last trading day of the week, the NEPSE index closed with a single-digit decline. The NEPSE index dropped by 5.99 points to settle at 2,640.96 points. On the previous day, Wednesday, the index had decreased by 11.97 points to reach 2,646.95 points.
Although the NEPSE index declined by a single digit, the transaction amount increased compared to Wednesday. On this day, 17,108,809 units of shares from 311 scripts were traded, amounting to NPR 7.97 billion (7,970,886,663).
On this day, investors of Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals incurred the highest losses. The company’s shares fell by 9.30 percent. In terms of transaction amount, Radhi Bidyut topped the list, with shares worth NPR 912.3 million traded.
Universal Power recorded share transactions worth NPR 640 million, while Butwal Power traded shares worth NPR 490 million, Nagbeli Group NPR 430 million, and Arun Kabeli NPR 290 million. Except for two groups, all other sub-indices showed a decline. The sub-indices of the Hydropower and Investment groups increased, while those of the others decreased.
Out of the stocks traded, the prices of 94 increased, while 153 declined. The price of one stock remained unchanged on this day.
