The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) is planning to organize Nepal Infrastructure Summit on September 11 and 12. It is expected that the summit this year will be attended by around 500 investors from Nepal and foreign countries.

“The purpose of the investment summit is not only to attract investment but also to learn about the practices of developed countries in terms of infrastructural development,” said Anuj Agarwal, vice–president of CNI, at a press meet organized in the capital on Sunday.

Through the summit, the CNI aims to forge stringer networks and alliances in the region for seamless connectivity and shared growth, and to prioritize the delivery of green, climate-resistant infrastructure projects to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

“The CNI has made a report on the situation of infrastructure development after two infrastructure summits held in 2014 and 2017 in collaboration with Sarwangin Bikas Adhyan Kendra,” said CNI President Satish Kumar Moore. “The report that gives details of investment needed for the development of infrastructure in the country will be unveiled during the summit.”

The CNi is also organizing provincial infrastructure meets in various provinces so that the local issues could be discussed at the summit.

The CNI is inviting former Prime Minister of South Korea Han Seung-soo as the keynote speaker for the event.

“This summit will be a follow-up of Nepal Investment Summit 2017,” said Moore.
