Myagdi: Electricity service from the national grid has been extended to Aal Danda, a tourist destination in Annapurna Rural Municipality–8.
Under the ‘Ujyalo Myagdi’ program operated by the Nepal Electricity Authority, the electricity transmission line has been extended from Ramche to Aal Danda. With the expansion of the electricity line, it is expected to make daily life easier for local residents of Aal Danda and facilitate tourism-related activities as well.
According to Satyanarayan Gami, chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Myagdi Distribution Center, electricity will soon be extended to other tourist areas in the district that currently lack access to electricity.
According to him, preparations are underway to extend electricity to Moharedanda, Phulbari, Dadakharka and Kalibaraha. Once the national grid reaches these areas as well, it is expected to provide additional facilities to both local residents and tourists.
Moharedanda, Phulbari, Dadakharka, Kalibaraha, and the Annapurna–Dhaulagiri region are known as major tourist destinations in Myagdi. The expansion of electricity services is also expected to support tourism infrastructure development and the expansion of local economic activities in these areas.
