Minister Khadka Prioritizes Reliable Power and Irrigation Reforms in Madhesh

Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, today gathered information in Janakpur regarding the province’s electricity and irrigation services.

Minister Khadka directed a team including Manoj Yadav, head of the Nepal Electricity Authority’s provincial office in Janakpur, and Mitra Baral, Director General of the Department of Irrigation, to improve electricity and irrigation services across the province in line with the needs and expectations of the people.

Minister Khadka stated that electricity leakage in Madhesh Province is higher compared to other provinces, and instructed that necessary steps be taken immediately to curb this problem. He also directed officials to fulfill the important responsibility of ensuring safe electricity supply while guaranteeing the safety of people’s lives and property.

Minister Khadka instructed the staff to work with the aim of ensuring 24-hour electricity supply in order to address public complaints about frequent power outages in various parts of Madhesh.

He informed that the ministry has a policy of improving working procedures, rewarding those who perform well, and punishing employees who fail to fulfill their duties. He instructed the staff to carry out their responsibilities and obligations with top priority.

Minister Khadka said, “Reforms are necessary in the electricity and irrigation sectors. By promoting this work, we are committed to improving the living standards of the people.”
