A consortium of banks led by Citizens Bank Ltd has agreed to finance Maya Khola Hydropower Project on Maya River in Sankhuwasabha districts.
Maya Khola Hydropower Company (P) Ltd, the developer of the 14.9 megawatt (MW) project, and the consortium have signed loan deal .
Citizens, Century and Civil are the member banks in the consortium.Consortium has committed Rs 1.74 billion for the project
The developer had signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority as “super-six” hydropower projects.
The average annual energy generation of the project is 83.13 GWh. The energy generated from the project is evacuated through a 5 km long 33 kV transmission line to NEA substation .
