
Kathmandu – Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, held a meeting with Pankaj Gupta, the Regional Director for South Asia at the World Bank.
During the meeting held on Thursday at the Ministry of Energy in Singha Durbar, discussions were held regarding the World Bank’s investment in Nepal’s hydropower sector.
He also requested the World Bank to expedite the financial management process of the Upper Arun Hydropower Project. Likewise, the meeting also discussed strengthening the electricity supply system.
In the meeting, World Bank Regional Director Gupta stated that the World Bank has prioritized the Upper Arun Hydropower Project. The meeting was also attended by Energy Ministry Secretary Suresh Acharya, Joint Secretaries Chiranjivi Chataut and Sagar Raj Gautam, World Bank Country Director for Nepal David Sislen, among others.
