PARBAT: The landslide after three days of rainfall at Lower Modikhola ‘A’ Hydro Project in Kushma Municipality in Parbat has resulted in bringing electricity production to a grinding halt from today.
Due to damages resulting from the landslide to the 10 MW hydroproject, life has been affected. Bipin Paudel, Manager of the project plant, said that the landslide has damaged the transmission tower.
The landslide occurred after Modikhola eroded the land near the tower exposing it to high risk of collapsing. “We have taken precaution against further damage,” Paudel added. He said repair work in the damaged area had begun. He further added that electricity production would stop until the transmission line was reconstructed.
