Laxmi Sunrise Bank to Lead Consortium in Financing 102 MW Upper Marsyangdi-1 Hydropower Project

Kathmandu, January 6: The team led by Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited has managed te investment funds for the 102 MW Upper Marsyangdi-1 Hydropower Project. Under the leadership of the bank, different commercial banks are involved in the co-financing and Upper Marsyangdi Hydropower Company.

The total cost of the 102 MW Upper Marsyangdi-1 hydropower project on the Marsyangdi River in Lamjung district is Rs 2,140 billion.

Upper Marsyangdi Hydropower-1 had obtained a license from the Department of Power Development in 2075 BS. It has also signed a power purchase agreement with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

The banks involved in co-financing led by Laxmi Sunrise Bank, has committed to invest 74.77 percent of the project cost while the remaining 25.23 percent will be invested by the promoter-founder of the company.
