As a part of partnership between industries and academia yesterday a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony conducted between Advanced College of Engineering and Management (ACEM) and Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal (IPPAN) at Hotel Marriott in the presence of association’s president and college’s chairman.
The MoU is first step towards long term collaboration of IPPAN and ACEM to the students aspiring to take up career in hydropower sector and technical assistance to the energy sector on capacity building cooperation through Internship, on site trainings, placement and Research and Innovation services in energy sector development.
This is also the first in many initiatives of IPPAN in bringing up the young generation to be future professionals of energy sector in the context of Nepal. Therefore ACEM and IPPAN believe that collaboration and co-operation between themselves will promote more effective use of each of their resources, and provide each of them with enhanced opportunities.
The MOU will facilitate effective utilization of the intellectual capabilities of the faculty of ACEM providing significant inputs to them in developing suitable teaching/training systems, keeping in mind the needs of the industry. IPPAN shall provide inputs in engineering course designs, nominating visiting faculty from hydropower industry and similar capacity building for engineering students aspiring to take up career in hydropower sector. ACEM shall implement inputs provided by IPPAN on course contents with an objective of developing appropriate skills of students with interest in hydropower sector. Whereas, for any IPPAN activities, if technical assistance or any assistance is called for, ACEM shall provide necessary support via the intellectual capabilities of the faculty or the students.
The initial validity period is set to be for two years mentioned by IPPAN president.
