Himal Dolakha Hydropower project in final phase

    The construction works of Himal Dolakha Hydropower Cascade Project of 8 megawatt capacity has reached the final stage.

    The project at Gadak and Rangapani of Ilam Municipality is expected to complete within two weeks, Managing Director of the Project Rupmani Rajbhandari said. Installation of the equipments in the powerhouse is in full swing.

    The generated power would be transmitted to the national grid through the Kabeli Corridor at Godak Substation, Public Relations Officer of the Project Narendra Chhetri said. He shared that construction of the four-km-long 33 KV transmission line is also ongoing.

    The project promoted by the Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company is expected to generate 8 megawatt power at the cost of Rs 1.20 billion. The company has already constructed a hydel project with capacity of 6.1 megawatt in Rajduwali of Ilam. The cascade project was developed by utilizing the water from the same project. RSS
