Bhojpur: Electricity service has been expanded to the Lungan area of Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality–2 in Bhojpur. This region, which had long been deprived of electricity access, is now connected to the national transmission line.
Electricity was extended to the village after the construction of necessary infrastructure such as poles, wires, and transformers through the initiative of the ward office and coordination with relevant agencies. The ward office stated that most settlements in Lungan now have access to electricity.
Ward Chair Bichari Thapa informed that electricity has been extended to all areas of the village and expressed confidence that this will bring positive changes in the lives of local residents.
He said, “With the expansion of electricity access, the daily lives of people here have become easier. It will further support education, health, communication, and the operation of small industries and businesses.”
According to local resident Maheshwari Karki, the expansion of electricity has made household activities more convenient. She said it has greatly helped in lighting, using electrical appliances, and supporting children’s studies.
“Earlier, we had to rely on oil lamps and kerosene lamps. Now, with electricity, both household work and children’s education have become easier,” she said.
Similarly, local resident Hemraj Karki said that the expansion of electricity has made it easier to operate small and cottage industries. He noted that it has significantly supported activities such as processing agricultural products, tailoring, and operating milling services.
Local resident Shambhu Rai said that after electricity reached the village, access to information and communication technology has expanded, and the use of digital services has also increased.
The local government has stated that it will continue coordination with relevant agencies to ensure the sustainability, quality supply, and regular operation of electricity services in the coming days.
