Kathmandu, October 2, Myagdi- The Dandakhet–Rahughat transmission project has reached its final stage.
Electricity generated from various hydropower projects in the Myagdi and Rahughat “basins” will be supplied to the central system through this project, which has achieved 80 percent physical progress.
According to Project Chief Roshan Agrawal, this progress has been made within four years.
Since works such as forest area management, substation and tower construction could not be completed without interruption, it is almost impossible to finish the remaining tasks by November 16.
A contract agreement worth Rs. 3.57 billion was signed with a construction company four years ago to build a 25-kilometer 132 kV transmission line from Dandakhet of Malika Rural Municipality–7 to Ambang of Rahuganga Rural Municipality–3, Rahughat, along with the construction of substations at both locations.
So far, 45 double-circuit towers have been completed, while 14 are under construction.
Construction of four hydropower projects with a total capacity of 172.8 MW has begun on the Myagdi River.
In Rahughat, the 35.5 MW Chimkhola–Rahughat–Mangle, the 48 MW Upper Rahughat, and the 21.3 MW Thulokhola Hydropower Project have already started generation.
The 40 MW Rahughat and the 23.5 MW Upper Thulokhola projects are in their final stages of construction.
The Chimkhola–Rahughat–Mangle Project, developed by Tudi Power, and the Thulokhola Project of United Energy have transmitted electricity to the 220 kV Kaligandaki transmission line through temporary towers.
