While the government is talking about making cooking induction cookers cheaper, Finance Minister Dr. Yuvaraj Khatiwada has made it even more expensive. Finance Minister Dr Khatiwada has increased the customs duty on induction cookers by 5 percent in the budget of the coming fiscal year.
Point No. 216 of the budget for the coming Fiscal Year mentions to encourage the use of electricity. At the same point, it has been said that concessions will be given to electric stoves, electric vehicles and electricity consuming industries. But in the tax policy of the same budget, the government has increased the customs duty on induction cookers and made them more expensive.
