The Company | : | Kabeli Energy Limited (KEL) is a subsidiary company of Butwal Power Company (BPC), established to develop own and operate Kabeli ‘A’ project at Panchthar District in Nepal. The JV led by BPC bagged Kabeli ‘A’ project through an International Competitive Bidding (ICB) called by Government of Nepal. The planned installed capacity of the project is 38 MW and is expected to start commercial operation in December 2016. |
Position Description | : | Plans and directs all aspects of the Company’s policies, objectives and initiatives, Responsible for leading and managing the Company to continuously increase shareholder value by achieving completion of project timely and within budget. |
- Key Performance Areas:
- Administration and Strategic Management
- Assist the Project Director in operations and administration of the project ensuring timely availability of relevant information;
- Keep Project Director informed on all matters that may be of importance to the company including market situation and company’s current performance and progress;
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the management team and employees of the Company.
- Monitoring of Environment Management strategies based on the IEE and EMP of project;
- Create awareness of the environmental affairs to stakeholders at systemic level by conducting or coordinating worker training in area such as safety, laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring , and use of safety equipments;
- Construction Management
- Plan, organize and execute project activities and programs and make timely revisions as appropriate to reflect changing needs and requirements.
- Ensure that the project documents are complete, current and documented appropriately.
- Monitor accomplishment of targeted milestones as mentioned in project preconstruction and construction schedules and ensure its implementation for completion within time and budget.
- Monitor that all contractual, legal and project specific requirements are fulfilled.
- Ensure that the most competitive engineering, civil and other contractors and equipment manufacturers and suppliers are selected.
- Oversee that the construction & installation activities are completed timely.
- Financial Management
- Manage and mobilize the required amount of fund and working capital
- Ensure that the project is completed within given budget.
- Conclude Power Purchase Agreement and financial closing, and liaise with Government agencies for all necessary licenses and permits.
- Monitor resources for their optimum utilization.
- Approve budget, bills and payables as stipulated by the Company rules.
- Control budgetary expenses.
- Human Resource Management
- Recruit, lead and facilitate project team for the achievement of project development goals.
- Increase the effective utilization of human resource by implementing appropriate HRD policy and plans.
- Community and Public Relations
- Assures that the organization’s mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong and positive manner to the relevant stakeholders.
- Liaison with Govt. and all stakeholders for business expansion and increasing value for shareholders.

- Continuously seeks to improve project management & outcomes.
- Develops and implements strategic partnership with local administration to ease field operations.
- Strategic collaboration with contracted companies/parties for timely delivery and installation of hydro-mechanical & electro-mechanical equipments.

- General Responsibilities
- To adhere to the Company’s policies, manuals, guidelines in all activities, and to actively promote continual improvement wherever possible;
- To be responsible for own health and safety and colleagues, in accordance with the Occupational Health Safety and security Manual of the Company;
- To work in accordance with the requirement of ISO and to ensure that all new systems are designed in compliance with ISO requirements;

- Job Specification
- Qualifications:
Essential: Master degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Desirable: Master degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Master degree in Business Administration or equivalent. - Experience:
Essential: Minimum 10 years in Top Level Management
Desirable: 10 years of experience in Hydro power projects at decision making.
