    RURAL INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT SERVICE (RIDS) NEPAL is a Non-Profit Social Development Organization dedicated to improve people’s overall quality and standard of life, through holistic, long-term, integrated rural community development programs.

    RIDS-Nepal is seeking applications from qualified Nepali citizens for its Holistic Community Development Projects in Humla & Jumla for the post of a RENEWABLE ENERGY OFFICER (50% Field based &50% Kathmandu Based).

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    1.Candidate must have at least an Intermediate level qualification in electrical/mechanical engineering.
    2.At least 1-3 years practical experience in energy generation projects is required. A candidate with a bachelor degree in electrical or mechanical engineering will be preferred.
    3.Education and working experience in the field of mechanical/electrical engineering projects, Research& Development related fields and data monitoring systems will be an advantage.
    4.Excellent in spoken, written English and communications skills.
    5.Excellent working knowledge in MS Office Applications and Data Monitoring Applications are required.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1)To oversee the development, designing, coordinating and implementing of Renewable Energy Technology (RET) systems such as Micro/Pico-hydro, Solar PV, Solar thermal, Solar PV-Wind Turbine Hybrid, Improved Cooking Stoves and other renewable energy technologies for rural/remote village communities.
    2)To prepare equipment specifications, drawings and detailed work schedules for RET projects.
    3)To carry out site inspections, energy surveys, feasibility studies, cost estimations and project budgets.
    4)To develop and carry out training programs for end users on energy efficiency, RE project’s Operation &Maintenance (O&M) training for the local end users, and to improve their skills for increased sustainability of implemented projects.
    5)To plan, design, implement, coordinate and evaluate all RIDS-Nepal data monitoring related activities.
    6)To record, update and maintain all RET data from various monitoring systems on timely basis.
    7)To ensure a continuous cooperation in all RE projects with the local communities, enabling them to operate and maintain their systems and to solve village energy problems by utilizing their own resources.
    8)To establish and maintain an honest and open relationships with the RIDS-Nepal staff and the local communities.
    9)To produce, update and guarantee accurate documentation/Progress Reports on all RE and data monitoring related activities.
    10)Willingness to work in any other assigned RIDS-Nepal tasks according to the specific need and demand.
