The 111 Mw Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project which is located in Timure of Rasuwa District’s Gosaikunda Rural Municipality has resumed electricity generation from June 29th, after completing plant restoration and construction works carried out during a scheduled shutdown.
The project had suspended power generation from June 9th to July 28th, to complete essential repair works before the monsoon season. The repairs were undertaken following extensive damage to the plant’s structures and electro mechanical equipment caused by the massive glacial flood that struck the project on July 8th, 2025.
According to the company, all three generating units are now back in operation, and the completed restoration works are expected to enable uninterrupted electricity generation at full capacity throughout the upcoming monsoon season.
