KATHMANDU, May 11: Electricity supply in the Kathmandu Valley as well as in Pokhara, Butwal and Bharatpur was interrupted for about 20 minutes on Thursday evening due to a problem in 132 KVA transmission line, according to officials of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

“Power supply was interrupted fro about for about 20 minutes till 7:10 pm and was restored gradually,” an official of NEA’s Load Dispatch Center (LDC), told Republica.

According to Bishnu Prasad Shrestha, the chief of LDC, there was a disturbance in 132 KVA transmission line which led to a complete shutdown of power supply in the Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Butwal and Bharatpur.

“We don’t know where the problem actually occurred, but the supply has been restored,” Shrestha said, adding that strong winds might have caused the problem.
