Flooding in Nepal damaged an intake for the 14.8-MW Modi khola small hydro project on the Modi Khola River in Parbat, knocking the plant out of commission, according to Kathmandu Post.

The run-of-river project is also called Modi Khola or Modi.

According to the Post, “Project chief Tara Dutta Bhatta said the flood in the Modikhola damaged the intake and some machinery in the facility” on July 15.

This facility began operating in 2000 and is owned by the Nepal Electricity Authority. It generates 92.5 GWh of electricity annually from two Francis turbine-generator units.
