Kathmandu — Following damage to electricity transmission lines caused by fallen trees in various parts of the country due to strong winds on Sunday, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has intensified repair and restoration work. The authority said electricity supply was temporarily disrupted in some areas due to adverse weather conditions.

According to the NEA, technical teams have been continuously deployed in the affected areas to repair the lines and restore electricity service. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, has instructed NEA officials to expedite the restoration of electricity services.

The authority stated that a tree fell between tower numbers 122–123 along the Pipluwa–Pathlaiya–Chandranigahapur section, affecting the transmission line. The fallen tree has already been removed, and work is currently underway to re-energize the circuit.

Similarly, the NEA reported that three fallen trees between tower numbers 136–137 in the same section have been cleared. Necessary technical work is ongoing to resume the line.

Likewise, in the Amlekhganj–Kamane section, damage occurred to the transmission conductor after a tree fell between tower numbers 46–47. A technical team has already reached the site, and stringing work has begun for repairs.

The NEA said that following disruptions in electricity supply in various areas due to the storm on Sunday afternoon, efforts are underway to restore normal service by Monday morning.
