Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) invites expressions of interest to provide detailed engineering design and construction supervision of the 335-MW Upper Arun and 30-MW Ikhuwa Khola hydropower projects. Responses are due February 21.
Upper Arun and the nearby Ikhuwa Khola project are located in Sankhuwasabha District of Nepal’s Eastern Development Region on the Arun River, site of other hydro projects including the 900-MW Arun 3. NEA took bids in January to supply a trashrack cleaning machine as part of rehabilitation of the 144-MW Kali Gandaki A hydroelectric project on the Kali Gandaki River.
The utility seeks review of feasibility study, detailed engineering design and preparation of tender documents in Phase 1 of the work, followed by construction supervision of both projects in Phase 2. Contracts for each phase are to be made separately. Work on Upper Arun is expected to require 102 months, while work on Ikhuwa Khola is to require 72 months.
Solicitation documents may be obtained from the NEA Internet site at http://www.nea.org.np/tender_prequalification.html. Expressions of interest, two copies in English, are to include certificates of incorporation, audited financial statements, a company profile and information on jobs undertaken in the last 30 years.
Responses are due by 1 p.m. February 21, labeled “Expression of Interest (EOI) for Consulting Services: Upper Arun Hydroelectric Project and Ikhuwa Khola Hydropower Project.”
