Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy Top Bahadur Raymajhi on Friday said the country’s prosperity was possible only through hydropower development.
Inaugurating a two-megawatt hydel project constructed at Chhyangdi Khola in Lamjung, Minister Raymajhi said construction of hydro power projects should be expedited for industrialisation and economic development of the country.
Raymajhi stated that the country could develop if political stability, adequate infrastructure and peace were ensured.
Chhandi Khola hydropower project said his ministry was working to remove policy level and administrative hurdles to achieve the goal of generating 10,000 megawatts of electricity within 10 years. “We have formulated a master plan for hydropower development,” he said.
The power generated from Chhyangdi Hydropower Project has already been connected to the national grid.
