
Kathmandu — Within just six days of the government opening the Mustang Customs Office, 209 electric vehicles and 107 cargo transport vehicles have entered via this route. During the same period, approximately NPR 34.5 crore in revenue was also collected from this customs office.”
“On 9 Sep 2025, the Rasuwa Customs Office was completely closed due to flooding in the Lhende River in Rasuwa district. After a landslide on the Kodari Highway towards the Tatopani Customs Office caused a blockage, the government had fully operationalized the Mustang border.
To facilitate foreign trade between China and Nepal, the Mustang Customs Office at Nechung (Khorla border) has been fully operationalized from 30th Bhadra.
As of 20 september 2025, 209 electric vehicles and 107 cargo transport vehicles have been inspected and cleared through the Mustang Customs Office, collecting NPR 34,47,45,252 in revenue,’ said Ministry of Finance spokesperson Tank Prasad Pandey.
Currently, the ASYCUDA system has also been implemented at this border, and as per the Nepal Rastra Bank’s circular dated 16 September 2025, the Mustang Customs Office has been included in the Integrated Circular–2081, allowing it to be treated as Chinese territory for the purpose of importing goods via transit documents, thereby facilitating trade.
